Get Involved
More than seven women are placed in domestic violence refuges in Queensland every day.
Most of these women are accompanied by their children.
The White Ribbon Day Campaign seeks to raise awareness about the epidemic of violence against women
and girls in our society through a variety of inclusive programs for individuals and communities.
TALK ABOUT IT
We ask all members of our community to join the campaign ‘Not Violent, Not Silent’ and talk about violence against women and girls.
Why does it happen?
How does it happen?
What can we do about it?
Join in the discussions on facebook and twitter!
Use #whiteribbon and #talkaboutit
Together we can draw a line and say ‘no more’. It’s black and white.
WEAR BLACK AND WHITE
Organise your workplace and community to wear black and whie on White Ribbon Day, 25 November 2011. Request a gold coin donation and raise much needed funds for victims of Domestic Violence. Contact our team if you need some help.
INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO THE FACEBOOK EVENT
We have set up a facebook event for White Ribbon Day. Invite all your networks to join this group and ask them to TALK ABOUT IT!
NOMINATE A WHITE RIBBON AMBASSADOR
We are calling all good men: from high profile working professionals to every day citizens, men and boys, regardless of age or background, to sign up today and become a White Ribbon Ambassador. Encourage others to join the global movement to eliminate violence against women and promote equality between both genders.
PLEDGE YOUR COMMITMENT
Join hundreds of “not violent, not silent” Queenslanders by swearing to ‘Take the Oath’ online to show your commitment to the White Ribbon Day Campaign.
Men: think of the women in your life and show how much you care about them by spreading the word to get your friends, family and colleagues onboard.
Women: help the men in your life understand the importance of this issue – talk to them and encourage them to pledge their commitment online today!
IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Thousands of Australians come together to plan events in their community to raise funds for the White Ribbon Day Campaign and to bring awareness to the issue of violence against women. Schools, clubs and community groups across Queensland are taking action and you can too!
